Segero Church began as Songjeong Church in a space of barely 20 pyeong (about 66 square meters), with nothing more—and nothing less—than the gospel. The passion for saving souls that grew after Pastor Son Hyun-bo arrived became a channel through which God demonstrated His remarkable grace, surpassing human limitations and making the impossible possible.
The entire congregation joined hearts and carried bricks to build the first 30-pyeong sanctuary of Noksan Jeil Church. It became both the home of our faith and a symbol of devotion—a precious place from which the reach of the gospel expanded into the local community.
A fervent desire to share the gospel with neighbors and families finally bore fruit through God’s abundant grace. The second 67-pyeong sanctuary of Noksan Jeil Church became sacred ground for revival, built upon the tears and devotion of believers who embraced each soul with love.
Encountering God’s Greater Plan
During construction, an unexpected typhoon tore away the roof. Yet God used that pain to strengthen us and eventually granted a more beautiful third sanctuary of 105 pyeong. It was a holy season in which we experienced God’s good guidance turning hardship into a miracle.
To broaden the ministry of carrying the gospel to the ends of the earth, we built our fourth sanctuary and changed the church’s name to Segero Church. With an education building and a wide green lawn, this campus became a place where we continue to preserve the heart of the gospel and nurture the faith and dreams of children.
with a Passion for the Gospel
By God’s grace, the sanctuary built on 7,000 pyeong of land became more than a building—it became a gospel outpost for the nations. From this sacred ground, Segero Church seeks to be a faithful neighbor to the community, to move others through Christlike lives, and to press forward in the mission of saving souls.
Worship Continued Even When
the Whole World Stopped
Even through the COVID-19 crisis, Segero Church stood at the front line of faith by guarding worship. We could not stop worship, even amid administrative orders and closure, because worship is the life of the church. Our uncompromising defense of religious freedom remains a testimony to steadfast faith.
Gadeok Vision Center
Through the Gadeok Vision Center and the Korea Next Generation Training Institute, Segero Church prepares for the future of the Korean church. We present clear biblical standards in an age of confusion and equip the next generation and pastors with spiritual leadership. Raising people and awakening the times is a calling we will continue to pursue.
the 10/27 United Worship Gathering
for Religious Freedom and a Christian Worldview
On the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, Segero Church joined the Korean church in worship marked by sincere repentance and unity. We also helped kindle the 10/27 United Worship Gathering to defend religious freedom and Christian values, committing ourselves together to the mission of restoring holiness in this land.
Unam Christian Academy
Unam Christian Academy was founded to raise a next generation grounded in Christian spirituality and character and equipped with global competence. Through this educational mission, we seek to nurture leaders who will serve the evangelization of Korea and the future of a reunified nation.
Righteousness Like a Never-Failing Stream”
Save Korea National Emergency Prayer Gathering
Protecting the Republic of Korea’s liberal democracy is inseparable from safeguarding God’s church and religious freedom. Even amid turbulent times, Segero Church has spoken boldly to preserve the heart of faith. We will continue to serve as salt and light, defending freedom and the values of the gospel in this land.
An Unceasing Cry for Truth
Segero Church has not turned away from the pain of our times, but has stood where the church is called to stand.
During that journey, we endured the arrest and trial of Senior Pastor Son Hyun-bo; yet the hardship became a time to reaffirm our calling. In an age when the principle of church–state separation is losing its original meaning and religious freedom is threatened, we will continue to uphold Christian conviction and speak prophetically for the nation.
Carried Forward by the Gospel
Throughout its history, Segero Church has led approximately one thousand people to the Lord each year through baptism. Written upon the confession of each person, this journey is more than a number—it is a record of grace showing how the gospel transforms lives and saves souls.
Following our unchanging mission to proclaim the gospel and save souls, we continue today to share the message of life and celebrate every joyful return to the Lord. This sacred journey will go on.
To God be all the glory.
